JOYFUL PAST - FAITHFUL FUTURE!
HOW IT STARTED
Our Congregation began meeting in 1874.
Sparta was just becoming a community. Churches, schools and stores were being built.
Norwegian Immigrants began coming together to worship God.
They held services at irregular intervals, when Pastor Johannes B. Frich from another church in La Crosse was available.
The congregation paid a $1 fee per Sunday for use of the buildings they met in.

In 1880, Congregation took the name Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Services were held twice a month and were in he Norwegian language.
Sunday School was held in members' homes.

The name Trinity Lutheran Church was adopted in 1940.
Services were held twice a month. We had 200 members and were growing!
